bridge port (B_Port)

With Fibre Channel(FC), the ports have a special designation that expresses the functionality and is identified by an underscore. The FC ports only differ from the protocol on the interface in terms of the scope of functions.

The B_Port is a bridge port. The B_Port extends the connection of the Fibre Channel interconnect. Two FC switches can be connected to each other via ATM or via Synchronous Optical Network( SONET) using this port. The B_Port can only be connected to an E_Port of an FC switch.
