branch out cable

The branch cable (Vzk) is part of the subscriber line within the local network. It consists of many copper twisted pairs and connects the cable branch (KVz) with several end branch exchanges (EVz) or termination points line technology (APL).

The end distributor (EVz) in turn establishes a connection with the connection boxes at the user's premises via the termination point cables. The branch cables are part of the subscriber line (ULL). In Germany, they are about 300 m long, at most they can be up to 2 km long and contain 30 to a maximum of 100 copper pairs.
