bluescreen of death (BSOD)
Bluescreen of Death (BSOD) is an informal term for a bluescreen caused by a crash of the operating system. Bluescreen of Death is triggered by the operating system and shows a completely blue screen with error information displayed in white letters.
In addition, the text overlay can include hexadecimal characters that can be used to determine errors.
BDOD displays occur when a sudden error or General Protection Fault( GPF) occurs that causes the operating system to abnormally terminate or crash. The system is then inactive and can only be restarted by rebooting.
