Beyond the Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) means beyond the visual line of sight.

For drones, the flight envelope is divided into the area where the operator can still see the drone, which is the Visual Line of Sight( VLOS), and the area beyond that where the operator can no longer see the drone. This is the Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS). The BVLOS area allows the drone to travel much greater distances, covering a wider range of operations.

In manned flight operations, technical equipment can make the BVLOS area visible.
