basic trading area (BTA)

The Basic Trading Area (BTA) is a term from mobile communications technology. It is the transmission area or footprint in which a licensed carrier may transmit. In Germany, the frequency usage plan is drawn up by the Regulatory Authority for Telecommunications and Posts (RegTP).
