With Bluetooth, the transmission rates were also increased with the different versions.

Standard Bluetooth in version 1.0 only supports an operating mode with the Basic Rate(BR) of 723 kbit/s. In later versions starting with Bluetooth 2.0 and 2.1, this data rate was doubled to 1.446 Mbit/s and tripled to 2.169 Mbit/s in Enhanced Data Rate( EDR) mode.

While Bluetooth in Basic Rate works with Gaussian Frequency Shift Keying( GFSK), Enhanced Data Rate uses Differential Phase Shift Keying( DPSK) with four and eight phases.
