The Qi standard for wireless charging recognizes several charging profiles: The BaselinePowerProfile (BPP), the Extended Power Profile (EPP) and the charging profile that detects foreign objects, the Foreign Object Detection
(FOD). The Baseline Power Profile (BPP) is for small devices that are charged at low power. The charging power is up to 5 W. Unidirectionalcommunication takes place between the two stations, receiver coil and transmitter coil over the inner band range. The signals are transmitted with amplitude shift keying (ASK) over the magnetic field. Before the energy transmission takes place, information about the configuration and identification features is transmitted.
