auxiliary (AUX)
- Auxiliary refers to auxiliary devices and also connection functions in operating systems for personal computers(PCs) that provide for the exchange of commands with the connected devices or other computers.
- In audio technology, auxiliary refers to a makeshift function or input or output: aux-in or aux-input. It is an analog line auxiliary input like line-in, technically identical to the inputs for CD or DVD drives, tape recorders or tuners.
