Automatic High-Beam Assistance (AHB) is one of the driver assistance systems. Corresponding systems
detect the headlights of oncoming vehicles and the tail lights of vehicles ahead, and can thus automatically adjust their lighting conditions to the traffic situation. With Highbeam Assist, a camera mounted on the windscreen detects the headlights of oncoming vehicles and switches its own headlights from high beam to low beam or adaptive light so that the oncoming road user is not dazzled. As soon as Highbeam Assist detects that there are no oncoming road users or vehicles ahead, it switches back to high beam.
