authentication server function (5G) (AUSF)

Authentication Server Function (AUSF) is an authentication server in a 5th generation( 5G) mobile network that stores data to authenticatesubscriber devices.

In general, the basic security mechanisms of 4th generation mobile networks could be reused for 5th generation mobile networks. However, as 5G enables new and more far-reaching services that require many different security applications, authentication of subscriber devices is only possible with the more far-reaching Authentication Server Functions (AUFS).
