Audiovision is a neologism derived from the Latin words "audire", to hear, and "videre", to see. It is the collective term for the combined presentation of sound and image information.

The development of audiovisual media begins with sound films, continues with television and video, and ends with projections on multimedia cell phones.

Audiovisual techniques are used in consumer electronics, home, presentation, information systems, teaching, etc., i.e. everywhere where information is transmitted simultaneously by means of audio and image or moving image presentation.
