Assistive technology is software and hardware that helps the disabled and blind to operate personal computers. Examples include screen readers, speech synthesis with speech input and output systems, pointing devices, Braille terminals, and screen magnifiers, which are software programs that magnify a portion of the image so that the visually impaired can read it.
