In project management, analogue estimation is used to estimate various project parameters such as the expected project duration, workload, project costs and the project budget of individual activities or of the overall project, based on comparable subprojects or projects. By comparison with projects that have already been carried out and existing empirical values, the project parameters can be predicted relatively well. The estimated project measures depend directly on the size and complexity of the project.
