analog simultaneous voice and data (ASVD)

Analog Simultaneous Voice and Data (ASVD) is a method of simultaneously transmitting voice and data with a modem over an analog telephone line.

The ASVD method can use POTS or leased lines for transmission and was standardized by the International Telecommunication Union( ITU) under V.61 in 1996. In the ASVD method, the voice data is transmitted simultaneously with the data data in other channels without interleaving. For digital data, the procedure is called Digital Simultaneous Voice and Data( DSVD).
