analog copy protection system (ACPS)

Analog Copy Protection System (ACPS) is a copy protection method developed by Macrovision.

Unlike Analog Protection System( APS), which disrupts the synchronization of the copied video signal, the ACPS process inserts additional, invisible image data into the video signals. The ACPS process protects DVD and prevents copying of the content by video recorders. The inserted image signals create artifacts and prevent proper recording of image and sound on a VCR.
