algebraic code excited linear prediction (ACELP)

Algebraic Code Excited Linear Prediction (ACELP) is a speech compression for bandwidths between 2.4 kbit/s and 8 kit/s.

ACELP is an enhanced compression technique used in Code Excited Linear Prediction (CELP) voice codecs and in the G. 723.1 audio codec ofUMTS and the Enhanced Full Rate (EFR) method ofGSM. ACELP uses an algorithm to predict the filter coefficient required for speech compression. The speech quality determined by the MOS value is 3.9.
