The viewing angle ofLCD displays is a weak point of TN technology because color distortions and a contrast reduction occur at larger viewing angles.

The ASV (Advanced Super View) technology is one of several technologies that are supposed to compensate for these drawbacks, and In-Plane Switching( IPS) is another.

In ASV technology, the liquid crystal molecules are arranged in a radial pattern and radiate in all directions. The viewer can look at the screen from viewing angles of up to 170° without color distortions being visible in the color representations.
