advanced communication function (SNA) (ACF)

Advanced Communication Function (ACF) is a function group for distributed processing as well as resource sharing in SNA architectures.

The ACF function provides advanced access methods in teleprocessing with ACF/VTAM (Virtual Telecommunications Access Method) as well as the advanced NCP functions ACF/NCP for the Communications Controller Node.

ACF/NCP resides in the front-end processors and interfaces with the SNA access method residing in the host for communications control.
