adaptive wireless path protocol (802.11s) (AWPP)

The IEEE802.11sworking group standardizes mesh networks, i.e. networks that are meshed by radio technology.

As part of the 802.11s standardization, Cisco has introduced the Adaptive Wireless Path Protocol (AWPP), which can be used to minimize interference during radio transmission.

AWPP is an adaptive routing protocol that allows mesh access points (MAPs) to check the transmit and receive quality of wireless links and dynamically adjust traffic levels to changing conditions. In this way, the optimal route is always achieved, taking into account the load and the interference voltage ratio (S/N).
