adaptive weighted fair queuing (TS) (AWFQ)

Adaptive Weighted Fair Queuing (AWFQ) is an algorithm for dynamic bandwidth control of traffic flow in wide area networks.

AWFQ uses the real-time information from the WAN monitoring systems and updates the traffic flow control parameters from it. This algorithm has a much finer adaptation compared to the other methods such as Class-Based Queuing( CBQ) and Weighted Fair Queuing(WFQ). In addition, there is control at layer 7, which makes Adaptive Weighted Fair Queuing (AWFQ) more advanced.

AWFQ obtains information from the WAN monitor about the application, the protocol, the origin and destination of the data packets, its path through the network, the time of day, and the user ID as the domain name.
