ad targeting

Targeting is a term from marketing terminology. Ad targeting, or targeted advertising, is online advertising aimed at directing combined advertising to defined target groups according to specific criteria and arousing their interest.

Targeted online advertising is supported by advertising servers, enabling the allocation of online advertising to the demographic parameters of a target customer group, for example. Ad targeting thus enables a significant gain in efficiency in the use of marketing budgets.

Types of targeted advertising include content targeting, which uses the substance of the content, and behavior targeting, which analyzes hobbies via web browsing. In addition, the GPS system can be used to determine position, and location-based services( LBS) can be used to deliver up-to-date, location-based advertising to the smartphone.
