active server pages .NET (ASP.NET)

ASP .NET is the successor technology to Active Server Pages (ASP). With the introduction of the .NET framework in 2002, ASP.NET was also introduced. ASP.NET is a development environment for developing Web applications and XML-basedWeb services.

ASP.NET is a component of Microsoft's .NET technology and is equally suitable for creating simple websites for personal use, but also for developing large websites with many corporate web pages.

The web applications can be executed on the web server only if the .NET framework is installed on it. The ASP.NET web pages are executed on the web server and sent to the web browser on the desktop or mobile browser in a description language such as HypertextMarkup Language( HTML), Extensible Markup Language (XML) or Wireless Markup Language(WML). The ASP.NET Web pages use a compiled, event-supported programming model that improves performance and allows separation of user interfaces. The ASP.NET web pages and XML web services are written in Visual Basic( VB), .NET, or other .NET-compatible programming languages.
