active energy control (protection) (AEC)

Active Energy Control(AEC) is an actively controlled energy control of leakage currents between the 1st and 2nd lightning protection zones.

The controlled energy control acts between the lightning current arrester and the surge arrester and is triggered by ignition electronics. The ignition electronics is set to a response value, as soon as this is reached, it ignites and discharges the overvoltage between the lightning protection zones.

The Active Energy Control lightning protection technology was developed by Phoenix Contact.
