acceptance criteria (PM)

In project management, the acceptance criteria, Acceptance Criterias, are listed as conditions that should promote the acceptance of a project. The acceptance criteria must be worked out in advance of the project and all project participants must agree to them.

Typically, the acceptance criteria with their specific details should be explained prior to the start of the project with an accurately developed timeline to ensure that all project stakeholders are on the same level of knowledge.

Acceptance criteria may include essential requirements that must be ensured by the deliverables of the completed project; other acceptance criteria relate to specific phases in the baseline plan. The many acceptance criteria accepted by the project participants, should be prioritized by the project participants if possible. If certain acceptance criteria are not met or are only partially met during project execution, they must be readjusted or assigned a different status, such as conditional acceptance.
