The Unix to Unix Encode (UUENCODE) is the encoding of a file into the Uuencode format. This encoding method is used to transfer binary files in emailsSimple Mail Transfer Protocol
(SMTP). Itinvolves text and graphic files in e-mails, which also appear as character strings.
Before transmission, the files are translated with uuencode and included in the e-mails as normal text. The transmitted e-mail is stored on the receiving side and converted back to binary data with uudecode.
