The TARGA format is a pixel-oriented file format for raster graphics. Targa files can have a resolution of 8, 16, 24 and 32 bits/pixel and are mainly used in professional computer graphics and image processing. The Targa format works with run-length encoding and corresponds largely to the Tagged Image File Format ( TIFF). Targa files have the extension *.tga.
