The double-shielded RG-6 cable has an outer diameter of 8.4 mm, the inner conductor has a diameter of 0.724 mm. It is used, among other things, in broadband distribution networks for cable television, but also in broadband transmission systemsand video surveillance( CCTV). In network technology, it is and has been used in token bus, hyperchannel and in the cabling of IBM 3250 and 5080 graphics systems.

The RG-6 cable is suitable for frequencies up to 300 MHz, for which it has an attenuation of 23 dB/100 m, at 10 MHz the attenuation is 2.9 dB/100 m, at 100 MHz 9.8 dB/100 m.
