According to the nomenclature, the other platinum elements with 200 ohm resistance are called Pt200, with 500 ohm Pt500 and with 1 kilo ohm Pt1000.

The thermistor Pt100 is characterized by a high linearity, it has a sensitivity of approx. 0.4 %/K and is used in the temperature range between -200 °C and +850 °C. Pt100 is available in two tolerance classes depending on the purity of the platinum: tolerance class "A" with a higher accuracy and reproducibility than tolerance class "B". The extremely linear resistance change of the Pt100 sensor is specified in various standards.
