NetWare link services protocol (Novell) (NLSP)

The NetWareLink Services Protocol(NLSP) is a routing algorithm developed by Novell and supported by many router vendors that is designed to meet the unique requirements of wide area networks.

The NSLP protocol is an extension of the Routing Information Protocol( RIP) that provides a more efficient networking solution for larger Novell networks. It ensures optimal distribution of each packet over the best route in the wide-area network. Routers using the NLSP protocol can incrementally update their routing tables instead of discarding them and replacing them with periodic broadcasts.

NLSP routers work with the RIP protocol.
