NetBill
NetBill is a payment system for the Internet developed by the American university Carnegie Mellon. It was developed in 1997 as one of the first electronic payment systems for e-commerce. As part of the university research project, a so-called pre-paid account was developed on which money was transferred and then used for micropayments, especially for digital goods. NetBill is no longer relevant today and has been replaced by other e-payment systems.
