NFC tag
As with RFID, near field communication( NFC) tags can be used for personal identification, goods identification and device identification. Each NFC tag is equipped with an antenna and a microchip.
NFC tags can be active tags or passive tags that do not require their own power supply.
Like RFID tags, NFC tags operate at 13.56 MHz. The NFC Forum has standardized four different tag types and assigned them numbers from 1 to 4. The NFC tag types differ in RF interface, transmission rate, storage capacity, write protection, encryption and protocol set.
Storage capacities are 96/512 bytes (Type 1), 48/168 bytes (Type 2), 1/4/9 KB (Type 3) and 2/4/8/32 KB (Type 4). Three of the four tag types are based on the ISO 14443smart card standard, the fourth on ISO 18092 FeliCa.
