M band

In the literature, different designations are used for frequency bands. On the one hand those for radar applications from NATO, on the other hand the historical designations from IEEE.

However, the M-band exists only in the European nomenclature of NATO. The M-band, which follows the L-band, refers to the frequency band above 60 GHz to 100 GHz. These are millimeter waves of 3 mm. Long-range radar used in automotive technology transmits in the M band. Even higher frequencies are offered by the N band and the O band.
