LinkedIn

LinkedIn is a social network for business that professionals in companies and enterprises can use for business contacts or through which they can stay in touch with professional colleagues, business partners and customers. The basic membership, the Basic Account, is free of charge. Network members, unlike Basic members, are called Connections, in the sense of relationships.

The LinkedIn principle is based on these connections: a network of relationships that distinguishes between three different degrees of relationship. The first relationship level concerns users who have been selected by a member for contact. These are usually acquaintances from school or training. The second relationship level is about the friends of the acquaintances of the first relationship level. Thus, one establishes new relationships, and the third relationship degree refers to contact requests from acquaintances from the second relationship degree.

Members of LinkedIn create their own professional profile with a detailed professional vita showing their education, academic title, other awards and periods of employment with the corresponding companies. On LinkedIn there is, among other things, a job directory in which companies can post open positions with their requirements. On the other hand, LinkedIn members can also post their profiles and ideas in the Job Search section.
