LAN emulation server (LES)

The LAN Emulation Server (LES) is a defined feature set in an ATM network to support LAN-LAN connections, i.e. the LAN emulation defined by the ATM Forum. The LANEmulationServer supports the Data Terminal Equipment ( DTE). There is only one logical LAN Em ulation Server per Emulated LAN ( ELAN), which is identified by a uniquely occurring ATM address.
