K8 processor
K8 is the eighth microprocessor generation from Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), also known by the code name "Hammer".
The K8 processor is a 32/64-bit combination processor that can process both 32-bit codes and 64-bit codes.
The architecture of the K8 features a 12-stage, three-way pipeline and has a total of three arithmetic units( ALU) and three floating-point units( FPU).
The address space is 64 bits and likewise the registers have 64 bits for 64-bit code. The Level 2 cache has a memory capacity of up to 1 MB, and the K8 also has an integrated memory controller with interface for Double Date Rate( DDR) with 64 bits or 128 bits.
