Java community process (JCP)

All further developments of the Javaprogramming language are subject to the control of the Java CommunityProcess (JCP), an independent standardization committee.

Both commercial companies and non-commercial organizations are represented on this committee. The composition of this committee is intended to ensure that proposals for further development are examined as independently and objectively as possible. Promising and apparently useful changes are described in Java Specification Requests ( JSR) and followed up. The JSRs are also published on the Internet to ensure transparency to the outside world.
