Java advanced imaging API (JAI)

The Java Advanced Imaging API (JAI) is a package of Java classes that, in contrast to the Java 2D API, allow considerably more complex image processing. In addition to image processing, the Java Advanced Imaging API also supports different image formats and the transport of image files over networks.
