Java 3D API

The Java 3D API is a 3D programming interface for processing three-dimensional graphics in Java programs. Through this interface, 3D objects can be created, textured, or given other effects. The Java 3D API contains many development tools that support the creation, construction and display of 3D models. These tools run as applets within the browser or as standalone applications.

For two-dimensional graphics processing, there is the Java 2D API and the Java Advanced Imaging API( JAI).
