ISO-Latin-1

ISO-Latin-1 is an international 8-bit character set standardized under ISO 8859.

The 256 characters are assigned to a number, whereby the first 128 characters correspond to the ASCII character set and the other 128 are reserved for national characters. ISO-Latin-1 is one of the most widely used character sets, it is used in Western Europe, America, Australia and parts of Africa.
