ISO/IEC 15018
The ISO/ IEC 15018 standard for home cabling is derived from the ISO/IEC 11801cabling standard, and supports three application scenarios: voice and data communications, home entertainment and broadcast services, and building management communications.
The three services mentioned are Information and Communications Technologies( ICT), Broadcast and Communications Technologies( BCT), and Commands, Controls, and Communications in Buildings( CCCB).
The 15018 home cabling structure recognizes various backbone systems and distribution components. For example, the campus and the building backbone, the building, floor, and apartment distributors, and the tree- or star-connected outlet boxes for the telecommunications and broadcast services.
Symmetrical TP cables, coaxial cables and optical fib ers can be used as cables. The RJ45 connector, coaxial connector and Tera connector are specified as connector systems for the outlets.
