IEEE MultiGigBase-T1

As part of the development of single-pair Ethernet (SPE), there are efforts to increase the currently standardized transmission rates of 1 Gbit/s, which is being worked on by the IEEE 802.3bp working group, to several gigabits per second. These activities

are known as MultiGigBase-T1 and are being driven forward by the IEEE 802.3ch working group. MultiGigBase-T1 is intended to transmit data rates of 2.5 Gbit/s, 5 Gbit/s and 10 Gbit/s over short distances of up to 15 m. The aim of this work is to increase the speed of the Ethernet network.
