IEEE 802.3 25GBase-T

The IEEE802.3bq working group deals with the topic of 25 Gigabit Ethernet over four-pair category 8 TP cables. The specifications were created by the IEEE 802.3 802.3bq working group.

Like 40GBase-T, the 25GBase-T interface is based on the 10GBase-T 10GbEinterface. It has a transmission rate of 2,000 gigabaud per lane. However, the maximum bridgeable transmission length is limited to 30 m due to the attenuation budget. This distance range is mainly to be bridged in data centers, server rooms and for the connection between racks and ToR switches and EoR switches.
