IEEE 802.18
The IEEE802.18 working group is a coordinating body for all wireless network activities.
802.18 was created in 2002 to ensure that the three working groups, 802. 11 for WLAN, 802 .15 for Wireless PersonalArea Networks(WPAN), and 802.16 Wireless Metropolitan Area Networks(WMAN), do not develop standards that conflict with each other. In addition, the 802.18 working group, the Radio Regulatory Technical Advisory Group( RRTAG), wants to have a say in determining and releasing frequency ranges for radio networks nationally and internationally.
