GSM EDGE radio access network (GERAN)

GERAN is the abbreviation for GSMEDGE Radio Access Network. It is a standard for cellular GSM radio access networks supported by the Third Generation Partnership Project( 3GPP). GERAN is a key component of GSM and UMTS/GSM networks via which the base stations and radio base controllers are radio-connected to the cellular network.
