GB/T system

The GB/T standard is the Chinese standard for charging electric vehiclebatteries. Other charging systems include the Combined Charging System (CCS) of German car manufacturers, CHAdeMO and Supercharger from Tesla. The GB/T system is suitable for battery charging of electric vehicles (EV) and hybrid electric vehicles

(HEV). The GB/T system for AC voltage is designed for normal charging and for fast charging, it operates with three-phase current of 400 V, later also with 1,000 V. The charging current is 32 A and can be up to 63 A. The resulting charging powers are 11 kW, 22 kW and up to 43 kW. The charging plug is a 7-pin plug with three phases (L1, L2, L3), neutral (N) and protective earth (PE), as well as the two signal conductors Control Pilot (CP) and Proximity Pilot (PP), which are used for communication with the charging station. The voltages between the phases are 400 V each, and 230 V between one phase and the neutral conductor. As a fast charging system

, the GB/T standard 20235.2 offers charging powers of 237 kW, and in the GB/T 22019 version even 900 kW.Communication between the charging station and the electric vehicle takes place as soon as

aconnection has been established. It begins with the initialization by means of a handshake, followed by the request

for the charging requirement. The GB/T standard for wiredcharging

has been published by the China Electricity Council (CEC) under the designation GB/T 27930. Wireless charging is specified under GB/T 38775. The wired standard is similar to SAE J1939 and uses the CAN bus with a point-to-point connection between the charger and the battery management system (BMS).
