Federal Trojan
The term federal Trojan is used in two completely different contexts. On the one hand, it refers to a Trojan that is to be used by state institutions for online searches in the context of law enforcement.
Such a federal Trojan is also referred to as a state Trojan, as it is to be used in various federal states for online surveillance. Since the legal guidelines for spying on computers are not yet in place, the project has been shelved for the time being.
A federal Trojan is also a malware that infects computers via mail attachments or downloads, causes damage, locks the operating system and demands a ransom for the removal of the malware. Such ransomware Trojans are referred to as ransomware. Bundestrojan belongs to boot viruses that get stuck in the Master Boot Record( MBR) so that the operating system cannot be booted.
The name Federal Trojan comes from the fact that a simulated notice with a legal offense appears on the screen, referring to federal authorities, mostly the Federal Police, and using their symbols.
