Federal Office for Licensing in Telecommunications

The Federal Office for Licences in Telecommunications (BZT) emerged from the Central Office for Licences in Telecommunications (ZZF). On 10.03.1992, the ZZF was renamed "Bundesamt für Zulassungen in der Telekommunikation, BZT". The Saarbrücken-based institution is still responsible for the official approval of telecommunications equipment. In September 1996, the BZT was merged into the BAPT.
