Echonet

Echonet is an international communication standard for connecting different household appliances to a Home Energy Management System( HEMS).

Echonet technology is reliable, scalable and secure and can be used to monitor energy consumption and manage energy in Home Energy Management Systems (HEMS). It communicates via wireless smart utility network(Wi-SUN). The Echonet standard can be used worldwide. The Echonet Lite version relies on the IPv6 protocol and defines different application levels for home appliances and other electronic equipment.

The Wi-SUN Alliance has worked out and published some profiles for Echonet Lite.
