DVB Multipoint Distribution Satellite (DVB-MS) is a terrestrial DVB variant with which the TV signals are transmitted from a central converter via microwave to the receiving equipment. DVB-MS operates with line-of-sight (LOS) only and can bundle several TV channels via a microwave link. The transmission takes place at frequencies above 10 GHz. The DVB-MS concept has the advantage that the satellite signals of DVB-S are converted and can be received with simple receiving equipment instead of the larger parabolic antennas.
