C/C++ development tooling (CDT)

The Eclipse CDT( C++++ Development Tooling) is an open source project with which Java-based Eclipse frameworks can also be used for development with the programming languages C and C++.

The CDT development environment consists of the CDT core, which supports the creation, editing and navigation in projects. In addition, there is the CDT-Build, which integrates the build tools and compiles the source codes, and the CDT-Debug, with which the software developers can search for errors in the programs.

In the user interface of the CDT development environment, views and editors are displayed as tabs in the Eclipse window. With this representation, developers can access and modify project files.
